With the holidays approaching, now is a great time of year for video game releases. And with each passing year, the visual quality and storytelling of video games seems to improve, making them as popular as ever.
Naturally, there are an endless amount of video game themes for Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome. We’ve compiled some of favorites here, covering everything from the most popular games out today to a few of the classics.
What video game would you want to see as a browser theme?
Pac-Man
Maybe old-school video games are more of your thing? If so, there are plenty of browser themes for those as well, like this Pac-Man theme. Who hasn’t spent countless hours being frustrated by this game?
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong is another veteran of the video game world, but he has been able to enjoy a few reincarnations in a slew of Nintendo games.
“Halo 4” Chrome Theme
This is quite possibly the biggest release of the year. If you’re a huge fan of the series – and if you are, it’s likely taking up all of your time lately – show off with a “Halo 4” Chrome theme.
“Battlefield 3” Themes
“Battlefield 3” is an action-packed, award-winning first-person shooter and was immensely popular when released, selling five million copies in its first week.
Firefox and IE Theme
Vulpix
It’s hard to talk about video games and not mention one of the biggest game-changers there ever was: Pokémon. Though there are hundreds upon hundreds of new Pokémon that have been introduced, this Chrome theme is all about Vulpix, one of the original 150.
Master Sword Theme
Fans of “The Legend of Zelda” series will recognize this video game Chrome theme, as it features the Master Sword. This legendary sword seemingly chooses its master, a hero who has proven himself worthy with power, courage and wisdom.
“Assassin’s Creed 3” Chrome Theme
“Assassin’s Creed 3” has been released with plenty of fanfare and hype to go along with a cool storyline. However, if you’re an American Revolution buff, you might find some historical inaccuracies with this game.

How About Video Game Desktop Themes?
Just as a browser theme transforms the look and feel of your Internet surfing, a desktop theme transforms the look of your entire computer with wallpapers, sounds and more. Luckily, there are plenty of video game desktop themes out there as well to help satisfy the biggest of fans.
Angry Birds Desktop Theme
It’s safe to say at this point that Angry Birds has taken over the world. It only seems right that they now take over your computer.
Age of Empires Online
This desktop theme showcases the wildly popular series, which pits the greatest armies in history against each other. Be careful – these games are addicting (trust us).
