This week’s browser “Theme of the Week” was created by Firefox Persona designer Madonna and her “Colors of Sunshine” creation. This is a nice and simple delicate theme with the use of light yellow’s in the background, hinting at Spring and Summer weather. As one moves to the right on the theme, the colors begin to get a bit darker yellow and more rich with the emergence of butterflies and some beautiful yellow flowers. This light and airy theme is a perfect addition for anyone looking for a nice Spring or early Summertime looking browser theme for Firefox or Internet Explorer.

Valentine’s Day Firefox Personas and Themes to Fall in Love With by

valentines day for firefox personaAs January draws to a close, it’s time for all of us to set our sights on the next big holiday coming down the pike: Valentine’s Day.

It’s a polarizing holiday, that’s for sure. But we’re pretty sure the Valentine’s Day detractors are made up mostly of bitter people who simply don’t have anyone to celebrate with. While that is understandably upsetting, the rest of us love it. Sure, there is the common complaint – “Why do I need to be told when to celebrate my relationship? Shouldn’t Valentine’s Day be every day?” – but what’s wrong with celebrating love? Also, no one wants to celebrate Valentine’s Day every day. That would get exhausting.

However, in the days leading up to Valentine’s Day, go wild! A Valentine’s Day Firefox persona or theme is the perfect way to show your love for, well, this tremendous day of love. You can choose from just about anything – including standard fare such as flowers, hearts and candy – ensuring that you’ll find something that will make this Valentine’s Day extra special.

Leopard Fractal – Theme of the Week by

This week’s browser “theme of the week” comes from Firefox Persona designer, Gambat, and his creation, the “Leopard Fractal” theme. Fractals have been popular creations in both browser themes and desktop wallpapers over the years and the Leopard Fractal is one of the better ones we’ve seen in recent months. A “Fractal” is geometric pattern that is repeated at ever smaller scales to produce irregular shapes and surfaces that cannot be represented by classical geometry. This theme showcases a leopard’s intense yellow eyes looking straight at the user with brilliantly designed lines and shapes outlining its body. If you look closely you might even seen another pair of eyes that were created from the use of the Fractal. The black background of the theme really helps make the Leopard’s eyes, nose and body stick out. Congratulations to Gambat for a brilliant use of Fractals to create this week’s “Theme of the Week”!

This theme features a gruesome mummy under candlelight in a dark and ominous scene. The mummy’s has some missing teeth as well as a wet tongue flapping around his mouth with saliva flying out. His bloodshot yellowish-orange eyes beat in the evening light with one of his eyes seemingly missing altogether. Persona Switcher or Brand Thunder Personas Interactive? by

One of the best aspects of the Firefox browser is its ability to handle a wide variety of custom themes and background images, allowing users to truly make it their own. However, with so many theme options, it’s often hard to stick with just one, especially when it comes to Firefox Personas (also called background themes).

Many users want the ability to switch between different Personas and themes, which has always been possible, but not without jumping through a few hoops. The process of switching between installed themes on Firefox has always been a bit of a hassle, and a new Firefox add-on aims to take care of that.

Introducing a New Persona Switcher Add-on

Persona Switcher is a Firefox add-on that allows you to easily switch between your background themes directly in the browser, without having to restart it or go through too many steps.

When you think of browser theme designers your initial thoughts might be of a young 20-30 something or a “techie” type working arduously for the next great design. But since launching our browser theme creator tool this past July, we’re discovering that browser theme designers aren’t just for Generation X & Y or the Tech crowd. Creative minds come in all shapes, sizes and ages including our next feature with Firefox Personas designer, MaDonna, who might be one of the oldest theme designers out there at the age of 73!

MaDonna Background

MaDonna has been interested in designing since she was a young girl designing and making clothes for her dolls and later her three children. Prior to becoming one of the world’s foremost Firefox Personas designers MaDonna actually designed, made and sold clothing. This was her earliest design medium of choice.

Fast forward several years later, she became interested in personal computers but never thought she would actually own one until
