Let’s say you have opened your Chrome browser and it’s gone. Your favorite theme is suddenly missing, nowhere to be found.
While that may make you want to freak out and panic over its absence, there is no need to throw yourself into an uncontrollable fit of anger. Having problems with Chrome isn’t fun, but this is an easy fix.
It all stems from the release of Chrome 25, which essentially got rid of any extensions that weren’t directly downloaded from the Chrome Web Store. While this is a frustrating development, Google’s intentions were good. In the effort to increase security, Google recognized that malware and other malicious software can be passed through other extensions and have attempted to monitor that more closely.
Unfortunately, this move has affected trustworthy providers of Chrome themes, like Brand Thunder. Not to mention it inconveniences millions of users who suddenly lose extensions without warning.

Obviously, the Chrome New Tab page is exactly what you see when you open a new tab in the browser. When you do open a new tab, you can toggle between your eight most-visited sites and your installed apps. You can also look at your recently closed tabs and easily access the Chrome Web Store from the New Tab page.
Even better, you can move all of the app icons around to organize them however you want. You can also rename the Apps section to whatever you wish simply by double-clicking on the existing title and typing in a new name.
Right-clicking on an app itself brings up a number of options, which includes the ability to remove it from Chrome altogether.

With great power comes great responsibility, especially when you are one of the most popular web browsers on the planet.
Like every other browser out there, Google Chrome works tirelessly to stay ahead of hackers and cyber criminals. With each new update that enhances security, malware works just as tirelessly to find ways around it. Most recently, Chrome blocked the installation of extensions from third-party websites, which, as a security measure, means they can only be downloaded through the Chrome Web Store.
Of course, users could still opt-in to install an extension after downloading an external software or application. While that was intended to give developers more ways to reach users, it was also a way for criminals to install malicious extensions to Chrome without one’s knowledge.

If you installed an extension that you didn’t get from Google’s Chrome Web Store, it’s getting turned off when Google releases Chrome 25. Unlike most software that prompts you for an update, Google updates silently – so one day your browser will stop working the way you expect it.
Here’s what you need to know to protect your browser experience and the extensions you’ve come to depend on – after the Chrome 25 install.
Caution Ahead!
The only warning you’ll get is this small window (shown in Image 1 below) popping up after Chrome updates itself.
Don’t miss this warning or you’ll miss the easiest chance to make your browser right.
When you the window appears, click the Extension Settings button to open a tab with all your extensions. If you miss this opportunity, we’ll give you a Plan B farther down in this post.
