Rejoice, hockey fans! Almost unbelievably, the NHL and NHLPA managed to strike a new deal, allowing the league to conduct a shortened – but eagerly anticipated – season in 2013.
At Brand Thunder, we are huge hockey fans, and we’re proud to provide the official browser themes for a number of NHL teams. In an NHL theme from us, you’ll not only get a sweet design, but a ticker full of breaking news, multiple theme options, quick links to your favorite team’s website and ticket information, and much more. Everyone is waiting to see how a 48-game season will play out, but there is no denying that there is plenty of excitement, considering there could have been no hockey at all.
Be sure to show off your excitement with any of our NHL browser themes below:
The Flyers have been one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference in recent years, but they just haven’t had enough to win the Stanley Cup, though they came incredibly close in 2010. We’ll be watching the Flyers closely this year, especially to see what goalie Ilya Bryzgalov does next.
This NHL theme features quick access to the Calgary Flames’ social media pages, along with a video sidebar for top news features, giving you all the Flames news you can possibly handle.
The Blackhawks followed up their Stanley Cup-winning season in 2010 with a lackluster effort in 2011-12. What team will show up in this unique season?
For the Alexander Ovechkin-led Washington Capitals, the regular season always seems to be a breeze. Advancing through the playoffs, though, is another story. The Capitals haven’t exactly lived up to expectations, but we do love the return to their original logo.
Columbus Blue Jackets
Ah, the Columbus Blue Jackets. They teased fans with a playoff appearance a few years ago, but other than that, have been pretty bad since entering the league. Jackets fans are incredibly loyal, though, and this NHL theme is perfect for that rabid bunch.
Historically, the Habs have been one of the best teams in the NHL, and just about every hockey fan knows Maurice “The Rocket” Richard and what he meant to the game. The Canadiens have been solid in recent years, but didn’t make the playoffs in 2012 – what’s in store for 2013?
Sometimes, it’s still hard to wrap one’s mind around the fact that hockey is being played in Florida, but the Panthers have become one of the better teams in the league. As far as NHL browser themes go, this one is on the upswing.
St. Louis Blues
The Blues were tough to watch for a few seasons, until Ken Hitchcock came along and changed the entire culture of the team. While they were swept out of the playoffs in 2012 by the eventual champion Los Angeles Kings, the Blues are still a team on the rise.
This is purely subjective, but the Minnesota Wild easily has one of the best logos in the entire NHL. So as far as NHL themes go, this one has to go near the top of the list (even though the team itself hasn’t been near the top of anything else lately).
The Coyotes have had their share of off-ice problems in the past, but they’ve been very competitive in the Western Conference, going all the way to the Conference Finals in 2012.
