Our first love was Firefox, and what was not to like. It was trendy and elegant. Fitting in with the sophisticated crowd, but equally at home in the dark recesses of the developer community. And Firefox is still all those things.  Now we have still another muse. Google Chrome.

The NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs are in full swing and there have been some spectacular games in the Conference Quarterfinals. This is also the time where web apps see fans flock to their offerings. So, with fan fervor running at a season high, now’s the time to get your browser skin on.

Ross Hollebon said it well calling out the Capitals tough skin – physical and digital. He acknowledges the Caps prowess on the ice and in the front office, both doing what they can to give the fans something to cheer about. Which makes you wonder about the teams only giving it half the effort.

So, here’s our list of the playoff teams that are giving the digital shout out to their fans, whether it’s a browser theme or a toolbar. For fans of the Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, Nashville Predators, New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning – there’s always next season.

Brand Thunder Introduces World’s First 3D Browser Theme by

COLUMBUS, OH – April 1, 2011 – Brand Thunder LLC (http://www.brandthunder.com), the custom browser specialists, announced today the launch of the world’s first 3D browser theme. Available for Firefox, the 3D browser theme, dubbed 3DBT, will literally reach out and grab users and drag them into an interactive media world unlike anything currently in existence.

While Brand Thunder has always been known as a leader in its industry, the three-dimensional concept virtually (pardon the pun) places the company and its users into a whole new dimension. Like many break throughs, the “Eureka” moment came from a technical glitch.

“It all started with a bad Skype connection,” explained Patrick Murphy, founder and CEO of Brand Thunder. “I was talking about a “transitional drag ‘n’ drop” and the theme development team thought I promised a client a “three-dimensional dragon with pop.” The result is a browser theme that changes the face of the Internet once again.”

To experience all of the action the 3D browser has to offer, grab the 3D Dragon browser theme from ThunderThemes.com. Users simply install the theme on their computers and then put on the 3D glasses that they should have received immediately after download. Unfortunately and embarrassingly enough, the glasses are experiencing some minor distribution problems. At present they are locked in the storage area of Brand Thunder’s impressive headquarters and no one, it seems, can find the key.

In the meantime, Brand Thunder has its nose back to the grindstone, and in other aromatic inspirations, as it works toward next year’s Scented Browser Theme, which will make real sense of the phrase “Scratch-n-Sniff.”

About Brand Thunder:
Formed in April 2007, Brand Thunder creates extreme makeovers for the Internet browser and the occasional irreverent press release.  Brands enjoy a persistent connection to their Internet consumer driving more website visits and increased revenue.  Through a software installation, end users change the drab Internet browser into an immersive experience from their favorite sports team, entertainment franchise or Internet site.  The interactive browser themes feature official logos, colors, content and functionality, and can also extend capabilities including video, music players or other Internet widgets.
